This is our QR Code Demo page.  This page creates QR codes in Hindi (as well as English). See below for the virtual keypad.

And it can do so similarly for any language of India.

This is not a technology we have invented. This technology is from Denso Wave Japan and is gaining popularity worldwide with the advent of camera phones. This is only an implementation for Hindi, perhaps the first.

We are working on developing a version of QR code that will be particularly efficient for India. That will be our own technology.

Instructions

Writing

1. You can use the Virtual Keyboard below to type the Hindi characters.
2. The alphabets (Hindi and Devanagari) are placed in their respective easy to find groups.
3. If you want to enter a Yuktakshar, you need to use the Halant character between the two alphabets. (shown in Pink)
4. There is Space and BackSpace at the bottom.
5. You may also enter English characters, symbols or numbers from your normal keyboard.
6. Do not put a lot of text, a  few words is fine.

Creating the QR Code

1. After you have finished writing, hit the Submit Button.
2. The QR code will be created and displayed.
3. Sometime Internet Explorer will not do correct URL encoding of the generated Unicode, in which case you may try from a Firefox browser.
4. You can save that image to your computer by right clicking and choosing Save Image As.

Verifying the QR Code

1. You can then check whether the QR code indeed represents that information by using a decoder software. Here is a link to an online decoder that works well for Hindi.
2. You can also use a Mobile Phone based decoder - for example in Nokia 73 and above you will find Bar Code Reader software in the Office Tools.
3. If your camera phone does not come with the software, you may be able to find one for it for free on the net.
